Sam Chung, Ph.D.

Dr. Sam Chung is interested in teaching web design and development, web services, software engineering, information assurance, cyber security, penetration testing, cloud computing, and predictive analytics. His research field encompasses two areas: 1) developing software reengineering methodologies and their application to legacy information systems modernization due to emerging computing paradigms and 2) modernizing insecure legacy information systems with software reengineering-based smart and secure computing for Information Assurance and Cybersecurity. Dr. Chung directs a Smart & Secure Computing (SSC) Research Laboratory with undergraduate and graduate students. Also, he serves a student organization for minority students called Minority in Computing (MiC). He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of South Florida (USF) in Tampa, Florida and has two MS degrees in Computer Science from George Washington University (GWU) and the Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). He graduated with a BS from the Department of Electronics/Computer Engineering track at Kyungpook National University (KNU).
