The School of Information Systems and Applied Technologies (ISAT) in the College of Applied Sciences and Arts (CASA) at Southern Illinois University awards students with $14,000 in funds provided by the National Security Agency (NSA). ISAT, a designated Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education (CAE/IAE), has a strong history of participation in cyber defense competitions and hosting of outreach events aimed at encouraging students to study cyber security. ISAT will create the Southern Illinois Collegiate Cyber Co-op (S13 C) as the avenue for sponsoring the proposed activities and other cyber activities among regional partner community colleges. ISAT seeks to provide $1,000 for 14 students during the Fall 2015 semester. Students who can be considered for award funds should complete a series of thirteen cyber exercises.
