SIU Security Dawgs was placed second at MW CCDC

Congratuation! SIU Security Dawgs was placed second at MW CCDC.

The SIU Security Dawgs RSO and cyber defense team traveled to compete in the 2017 Erich J. Spengler Midwest Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (MWCCDC) event at Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills, Illinois last weekend. The competition started on Friday, March 17th, 2017, at 5:00pm and stopped at 10:00pm. The competition resumed Saturday morning at 9:00am and competition went until 6:00pm. During the course of the event, teams were tasked with securing their assigned computer systems, defending against attacks from professional ethical hackers, and completing nearly 70 business tasks assigned by the competition staff. 
The SIU Security Dawgs did fantastic representing SIU and earning a second place finish, the best the team has done in nearly ten years. DePaul University won the event and University of Louisville came in third place.
