Admission requirement

Now that you’ve seen what big things are within reach at ISAT, it’s time to apply. We’ll walk you through the process whether you’re applying as a high school studenttransfer student or international student. Maybe you’re applying as a special case: a veteran, a non-degree student or a former Saluki returning after some time off.

Please Note: All applicants are encouraged to apply for admission and submit supporting documents one year in advance of the semester in which they intend to enroll.  SIU Carbondale has a preferred application deadline of May 1 for freshman applicants. Any applications received after May 1 will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Freshman students wishing to apply for the Summer or Fall 2017 semesters are encouraged to apply for admission and submit supporting documents immediately.

Effective Summer 2014, students may be provisionally admitted to off-campus degree programs at military sites for one semester with incomplete academic credentials. Certain academic records may be necessary to receive financial aid. For students to be released from provisional status, they must submit official transcripts from all institutions previously attended, including high school transcripts and ACT or SAT scores (if the applicant is under 21 years of age) if they have earned less than 26 hours of transfer work. Working closely with their academic advisers, students must submit all required academic records and meet all University admission requirements in order to register for further course work beyond the first semester of attendance. Please work with your site liaison for any questions.
