Thomas R. Imboden, who holds several certificates such as CISSP, CompTIA Storage+, Security+, etc., is committed and passionate in researching information security; finding innovative ways to teach cyber security concepts & skills and advancing researches on security practices in nonprofit organizations and small healthcare offices. By evaluating the applied security in these two segments he will identify gaps and deficits in order to help improve the security stance and posture of the segments. His current projects are “state of information security in nonprofit organizations,” “the evaluation of 802.11s wireless mesh networks in underground mining environments” and “use of open source unified threat management (UTM) technologies.” He got a B.S. in Network Technologies from DePaul University in 2003 and an M.S. in Telecommunication Systems from DePaul University in 2007 He has been teaching Information Storage Management Special, Projects in Security, Enterprise Network Management, and Advanced Enterprise Network Management. He also serves Tech Dawgs as a faculty advisor.
