Students are encouraged to join an RSO while in the IT program, and a work internship is required to graduate the course. Both will give a student hands-on experience that can't be acquired in a classroom. Occupational Internships also provide a 'foot-in-the-door' for signing on with a company post-graduation. RSO's, while not mandatory, give students the opportunity to work on long-term projects with their peers and create networking opportunities that could otherwise not be had. Utilizing an RSO has many benefits, but most of all, it is fun.
